A total of 140 electoral districts are set to be recounted Georgia-wide on Nov 1. According to CEC Chairman Giorgi Kalandarishvili, the vote recounting process will be public, with the corresponding competent authorities observing it.
''Recount procedures based on election reforms have demonstrated in the first election round that the process has made a significant contribution to its transparency. Correspondingly, I want to put forth the initiative for the election commissions to recount seven electoral districts instead of mandatory five,'' Kalandarishvili said at the briefing.
