Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze expresses his condolences over the death of architect Giga Batiashvili and extends his condolences to the family:
"Giga Batiashvili, an honorary citizen of Tbilisi, an architect who was immensely in love with our city, was excluded from our ranks. A person who has made a great contribution to the preservation of the historical heritage of Tbilisi and the development of the city's architecture.
I wholeheartedly share the grief of Giga Batiashvili's family members, friends, and colleagues.
Giga Batiashvili's name will forever remain in the architecture of Tbilisi," Kakha Kaladze wrote on the social network.
Architect Giga Batiashvili died at the age of 87.
