Kakha Kaladze, the Mayor of Tbilisi, congratulates Ilia II, the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, and the spiritual leader of the Georgian Orthodox Church on the 42nd anniversary of his enthronement.
Kaladze thanked Ilia II for his contribution and wished him a long life.
“For 42 years, our Patriarch, with great patience and virtue, leads the Georgian Church, praying for Georgia and each of us,” Kaladze said.
The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II was enthroned 42 years ago. He was elected patriarch of Georgia at the age of 44, in 1977, in the twelfth Council of the Georgian Church. The enthronement of Ilia II took place on 25th December of the same year.
