Kindergartens in Tbilisi will be closed starting from today. The Inter-agency Coordination Council decided at the meeting due to the epidemiological situation in the country.
The restriction does not apply to private kindergartens and ones located in other cities.
It is unknown when kindergartens will resume work. According to the Mayor of the capital, Kakha Kaladze, the decision will be made following epidemiologists' recommendations.
The distribution of food products to the parents of children of Tbilisi public kindergartens will start next week.
"This is happening due to the epidemiological situation. The decision has been made for the safety of children, and the safety of our employees," Kakha Gvantseladze, the Director of the Kindergarten Management Agency of Tbilisi, stated.
