Allergist/Immunologist Bidzina Kulumbegov says that lifting coronavirus restrictions is risky, as this will result in a massive spread of the novel virus.
In Kulumbegov's words, the WHO has made an unprecedented statement, saying that even on Christmas, if hosting guests, wearing facemasks is recommended. Additionally, according to Kulumbegov, 40% of coronavirus cases is transmitted between family members, which is why everyone should be cautious.
Georgia reported 2,635 coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours to bring the total tally to 204,003.
A total of 2,244 patients have recovered, and now the number of recoveries stands at 171,526. The country's death toll is at 2,002 (49 recent deaths).
