The Deputy Chairman of Education, Science and Culture Committee, Guguli Maghradze met with the USA John Hopkins International School researcher.The current situation with the discrimination was reviewed during the meeting.According to Guguli Maghradze the Anti-Discrimination Law adopted by the Parliament was positively assessed by the international society.
The Depute talked about the cases of discrimination that still exist in the country.These are the cases of ethnic and gender based discrimination.Guguli Maghradze mentioned that the persons who committed criminal acts against transgender people are charged.Despite this it is difficult to fight the attitudes that still exist in the society.
The American researcher got interested in the anti-discrimination attitudes in the education system.Guguli Maghradze stated that there is a step forward in this direction.
“Me and Society subject in school program in the framework of which school students get knowledge on the issues related to discrimination” – said the Depute.
