The MIA of Georgia has released a statement following the detention of 12 protesters. 

MIA employees have been deployed in the vicinity of the Georgian Dream office in Tbilisi to ensure really participants' safety and order.

Protesters' actions have fallen outside the scope of freedom of assembly and the right to freedom of expression allowed by the law.

The police have detained 12 after they committed administrative offenses. 

We once again warn the rally organizers to ensure that the actions will not turn violent and go beyond the law. Otherwise, the police will take action provided for in the law,'' the statement reads.

Demonstrators headed to the GD central office after the MIA publicized the interim opinion on cameraman Lekso Lashkarava's death.

The version by MIA of how Lekso Lashkarava died is inadmissible, according to protesters.

On 5 July, opponents of Tbilisi pride attacked journalists. The MIA of Georgia said that following the investigation activities, they determined that violent crimes were committed against 55 citizens, with 53 being representatives of different media outlets.

Far-right attacks were also carried out against representatives of various media outlets on 6 July.

TV Pirveli cameraman Lekso Lashkarava was physically assaulted during the 5 June developments.

The cameraman underwent treatment at New Hospitals for a few days.

Lekso Lashkarava was found dead at his own house on 11 July.

Protests against violent activities have been underway outside the parliament for two days now.
