The Ministry of Defense informs that in the framework of coronavirus spread prevention, the areal in the west of the country under the control of the Ministry has expanded.
According to the Ministry, to control the state of emergency quarantine regulations, the militaries and police jointly control the entrance of Lentekhi.
The functional responsibilities of Lentekhi checkpoints are different compared to those of other regions in west Georgia. Lentekhi checkpoint represents the place of movement restrictions where the militaries control the vehicles serving medical, food, and bank objects. When leaving the regions, the vehicles are controlled, disinfected, and the drivers are thermo-screened.
The third infantry brigade erected metal constructions at the movement restricting checkpoint. The night lightening robust systems are assembled. The soldiers got special instructions before leaving the place of dislocation; their outfit is disinfected.
At present, the west command department controls thirty checkpoints as the preventive measure of coronavirus spread.
Based on the Ministry of Defense, starting from March 22, the defense forces have accomplished the decontamination of 253,880 vehicles and thermo-screening of 620,000 people.
