''Cases are expected to peak in the country again, and the new wave will become another COVID-19 surge countrywide, with this caused by the new Omicron variant,'' NCDC head Amiran Gamkrelidze said, adding that abiding by the existing regulations is of utmost significance.
''Get vaccinated and follow the rules and regulations. Wear face masks, practice good personal hygiene, avoid large gatherings, and keep a safe social distance,'' the NCDC head said.
