NCDC head Gamkrelidze: Three vaccine doses will provide serious protection against Omicron

NCDC head Amiran Gamkrelidze says that Georgia has officially registered 147 Omicron cases and, as he says, the more citizens go to vaccination sites and get their boosters ''the fewer cases we will have to face and the milder symptoms to experience.''

''Three vaccine doses will provide serious protection against Omicron. Wearing facemasks, keeping a safe social distance, and avoiding large gatherings are also crucial. When the first Omicron case was recorded in the country, it accounted for two or three cases out of all suspicious ones. This figure now stands at 50%, with this indicating serious growth. In our view, it will take two or three weeks for Omicron to become a dominant variant,'' Amiran Gamkrelidze declared.
