Five newly confirmed cases at the Lars Checkpoint indicates that a new cluster has been formed, according to Amiran Gamkrelidze, the head of the NCDC.
In his words, the contacts of the infected patients are actively being traced.
"The lars checkpoint related new cluster is being formed now. The contacts of the patients are actively been traced. One of our groups is now in Khazbegi on the scene, with strenuous efforts being exerted to localize the area where the virus outbreak occurred," Amiran Gamkrelidze said.
Five locals have tested positive for the novel virus today. Georgia has reported 14 new cases of the coronavirus to bring the total number of the infected to 1,264. Eleven employees at MIA have also been diagnosed with the virus.
