Allergist Giorgi Kamkamidze says that PCR tests may repeatedly show citizens are coronavirus-free when they have the novel virus. In Kamkamidze's words, Georgia has repeatedly seen similar cases, and when this happens, x-ray scans are mandatory.
Georgia recorded 2,501 cases in the past 24 hours to bring the total tally to 164,976. A total of 3,988 patients have recovered, with their number increasing to 137,499.
The country has registered 1,540 deaths (36 recent).
