President Salome Zurabishvili has wished a Happy New Year and peace to the residents of Guria.

"First of all, I wish you a Happy New Year. Our festival of Kalanda (New Year) is wonderful, and we have preserved it as a tradition. Accordingly, it is an immensely powerful tradition and means much for us. As long as I am in Guria, I want to wish you all peace and a peaceful year. Let us not fight against each other, be united, and regardless of the difference of opinions, let us love each other as this is our power and the power of this country," Salome Zurabishvili declared and added that she does not ask journalists not to subject her to criticism. In her words, she just wants everyone to remember that they all have shared objectives.

Salome Zurabishvili has made the statement given above in the village of Dzvaburi, where the members of the National Movement have met her with a bean stew and leeks. This move was followed by clashed among the police and activists.

Zurabishvili said that she is a president of the democratic state, which is why she does not have anything against protests. "We live in a free country, and I will never protest against protests," she declared.
