Georgia's third President Mikheil Saakashvili has posted a video address on the social media, in which he responded to the protest rally outside the Kutaisi office and put forward an initiative on forming a special group for identifying riot police officers at the protest rally.
In his address, the ex-President appeals to his supporters, who he calls "ordinary citizens," "ordinary residents of Kutaisi" and "decent policemen" to identify all officials who are disgrace to their own country as they are serving improper purposes and breaking the law at every turn, which is why they must be brought to justice.
As per Saakashvili, an organization staffed with lawyers who will identify law breaking police officers and sue them will be created as early as tomorrow.
"I myself will support this organization. Tomorrow, we must create the group of lawyers and retrieve all names, with the majority of them having already been identified, of those policemen who are breaching human rights, attacking people, beating them, subjecting them to violence, firing rubber bullets or water canons at them in freezing cold. We must sue each and every of them," declared Saakashvili in his address and added that these people must be punished to the full extent of the law.
Disarray and chaos has been outside the National Movement office in Kutaisi, supporters of the Georgian Dream pelted the office building with eggs and brooms, with verbal altercation among the representatives of the left and right-wing parties having developed into fist fight.
A verbal and physical conflict also took place outside the Georgian Dream office. Members of the united opposition, who arrived in the Georgian Dream office to put a lock on its door, were opposed by members and supporters of the ruling party. Their intention to lock the office door sparked backlash from the members and adherents of the Georgian Dream.
