"The educational process in the big cities of Georgia will be remotely resumed until October 1," the Prime Minister of Georgia, Giorgi Gakharia, stated at a briefing at the Government Administration.

"Today, we all decided to postpone the training process for two weeks, just like Batumi, until October 1, in major cities - Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Rustavi, Gori, Zugdidi, and Poti," Gakharia stated.

According to the Prime Minister, the school in the mentioned cities, classes, and auditoriums will start on October 1, before that the studies will take place remotely.

"We need this to assess the current risks properly, and for that, we need two weeks with epidemiologists. After that, we will make additional decisions regarding the children," Giorgi Gakharia said.

On September 7, the educational process in Batumi and Kobuleti will be remotely resumed.

Eighty-seven new patients tested positive on coronavirus in Georgia, while 20 patients recovered.

According to stopcov.ge, 1 917 people have COVID-19 in the country, of which 1 354 already recovered.

41 Georgian citizens have been transferred from abroad for medical treatment.

Nineteen people died s a result of the virus in Georgia.
