State Minister: All citizens of Georgia are equal!

"Any discriminatory and insulting comments or statements, whether ethnic or other, on social media or in any other platform, are unacceptable; moreover, they are directed against the interests of the Georgian society," Ketevan Tsikhelashvili, the State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality writes.

According to the Minister, all citizens of Georgia are equal, and while fighting the pandemic, unity and mutual support are especially needed.

"I am sure that our society is well aware of this, and efforts to bring tension to public relations, in difficult times like this, will have no effect! In all regions of Georgia, protection of life and the health of citizens is an equal priority, regardless of ethnicity or religion. Due to the epidemiological situation, some areas or settlements, need specific quarantine measures. It is important to understand this need and to maximize civic responsibility. We are equal, both in terms of rights and responsibilities. Therefore, we must comply with the requirements of the law. Ethnic diversity has been, is, and will be a unique treasure of our country. Let's take care of each other and our country!" the State Minister wrote on her social media page.
