The holy fire will be delivered from Jerusalem to Georgia today. As it is already known, the ceremony of coming down of holy fire in the Cross Monastery will host no parish this year. Only fifteen representatives of the world Orthodox Christian Church are allowed to attend the event.
The passengers of the special flight who will bring the holy fire to Georgia have no permit to leave the plane. The holy fire will be passed to them directly in the plane.
Representatives of Greek, Russian, Ukrainian, Serbian, Bulgarian, Romanian, and Georgian Churches are travelling to Jerusalem to bring the holy fire.
The coming down of the holy fire from the place of Christ’s grave is expected to take place from 13:00 until 15:00, local time.
The Orthodox Christian Church celebrates Easter tomorrow, on April 19.
