A tourist was caught and buried in an avalanche on Mount Tetnuldi today. The injured man is reportedly the citizen of the Czech Republic. He has been rescued and transported to the Mestia region.
"Rescuers have dug a citizen of the Czech Republic, who has his upper limb injured, out of the snow and taken to the inpatient treatment center.
Search and rescue operations are still underway, with one person still missing. Rescuers have employed special equipment to find the missing person.
The Emergency Management Service rescue team and all other corresponding services are on the scene," the statement by the Emergency Management Service reads.
