The trial of Giorgi Rurua has been closed.
Judge Nino Chakhnashvili explained that the session was closed to maintain order. Relatives and friends of Giorgi Rurua refuse to leave the hall.
The lawyers of Giorgi Rurua demanded Nino Chakhnashvili to be dismissed. The reason for this was the failure of the judge to comply with the defense's motion. Rurua's lawyers demanded to allow Mtavari Arkhi to shoot the trial just like the Public Broadcaster.
According to the lawyers, Giorgi Rurua is the founder of Mtavari Arkhi, which is why the mentioned channel had to attend the trial.
According to Nika Gvaramia, the founder of Mtavari Arkhi, for this reason, his TV company was always allowed to attend the proceedings.
The police detained Giorgi Rurua for the crime envisaged by article 236, parts 3 and 4 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which includes illegal purchase, possession, and keeping of firearms.
