Tengiz Tsrtsvadze publishes information about Remdesivir use with COVID-19-infected patients.
“According to the decision made on May 1, FDA recommends the using of Remdesivir, which is among other medicaments in the clinical research phase, in the hospitalized patients with the severe form of COVID-19 infection. The same organization gave the similar recommendation on March 28 regarding Hydroxilclorocin (Plaqvenil) which is successfully used in Georgia to treat COVID – 19 infections” – writes the Head of Tbilisi Infectious Disease Hospital, Tengiz Tsertsvadze on the web page of the Center of Infectious Pathologies and AIDS.
Given the current interest in Remdesivir in the society, the information is as follows: the medicament was developed by Gilead Science to cure Ebola fever but failed to prove its efficiency with Ebola disease.
