Employees of the Central Criminal Police Department and the Special Tasks Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, together with the staff of the General Prosecutor's Office as a result of complex operative-investigative measures, arrested 11 drug dealers in the last ten days in Tbilisi. Mamuka Chelidze, the Director of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, stated at a briefing held at the Ministry.
According to him, the following people were detained in Ponichala settlement D.M., born in 2001, A.A. arrested in 1989, and Z.A., born 1983. Also among those detained are I.Z., a foreign citizen born in 1994, D.D., born in 1987; A.A., born in 1967 R.J., born in 1988, R.Z., born in 1972, A.M., born in 1970, V. M., born in 1956, L.S., born in 1989.
The detainees are accused of illegal purchase, storage, and sale of drugs. The offense carries a maximum sentence of 8 to 20 years or life imprisonment.
