As a result of investigative and operative measures, officers of the General Inspection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested D.A., born in 1985, a border police officer on charges of attempted fraud. Report.ge was informed by the press service of the agency.
The offense carries a maximum sentence of 6 to 9 years in prison.
"The investigation revealed that the accused fraudulently demanded money from one of the citizens in exchange for the release of the imprisoned child. As a result of the personal search of the accused, the law enforcers seized the fraudulent money. The fact of attempted fraud is being investigated under the third part of Article 19-180 of the Criminal Code of Georgia," mentioned the information.
