According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, two men, identified only as M.K (DOB 1985) and V.G (DOB 1990), have been detained for illegally purchasing, owning, and carrying firearms and ammunition. The police have seized illegal items in Georgia's Imereti and Kvemo Kartli regions.
Perpetrators face 4-7 years of prison sentences.
After searching M.K's car, the police retrieved the Makarov pistol, a pistol magazine, and eight cartridges as evidence.
As for V.G., police officers stopped him when he was driving in the vicinity of the Algeti village. While searching him, the police seized the Nagant revolver and six cartridges.
An investigation is in progress.
