As a result of a special operation, law enforcers detained nine drug dealers in the Ponichala settlement.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, on the basis of the judge's decision, were detained: V.P., born in 2002, A.M., born in 1994, A.I., born in 2001, L.A., born in 1998, A.M., born in 1973, E.M., born in 2002, E.F., born in 1982, D.M., born in 1989, and R.A., born 1993.

The investigation established that the defendants were systematically selling drugs.

Based on the judge's ruling, the law enforcers repeatedly carried out a controlled purchase of the drug Heroin from the accused and a secret audio-video recording of the mentioned purchases.

During the search of the detainees' private and residential houses, the police seized 94 packages of Heroin, as well as the drug Methadone, up to GEL 16,000 and their mobile phones as evidence.

Investigation launched under Article 260, Part 1, Part 3, Subparagraph "a," Part 4, Part 5, Subparagraphs "a" and "B," Part 6, Subparagraph "a" of the Criminal Code of Georgia; as well as under Article 273, which means a pre-arranged agreement of the illegal purchase, possession, and sale of a particularly large amount of drugs by a group and the use of drugs without a doctor's prescription.

The offense carries a maximum sentence of 8 to 20 years or life imprisonment.
