Investigative service officers, as a result of operative-investigative measures, exposed two persons for making and selling forged official documents, one of them was arrested.
The investigation established that the persons exposed in the crime, on behalf of one of the medical institutions located in the Imereti region, without proper laboratory research, in return for the money, prepared and handed over the documents reflecting the negative results of the PCR laboratory test of the new coronavirus to the person interested.
As a result of the investigative actions, the computer equipment used to produce a false certificate was removed.
The investigation is in progress under the first part of Article 362 and the 4th part of Article 221 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment for a term of 4 to 6 years.
Appropriate measures are being taken to identify other possible accomplices in the crime.
