According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, employees of the Division for Combating Trafficking and Illegal Migration of the Main Division for Combating Organized Crime of the Central Criminal Police Department, based on the judge's verdict, arrested D.K., born in 1975 in Tbilisi on charges of trafficking in minors.
The offense carries a maximum sentence of 14 to 17 years in prison.
"An investigation into the case has established that the accused was exploiting his wife's minor nieces. Using psychological and physical violence, he forced them to collect money, sell small things and hand the amount to him. If his orders were not followed, he physically abused them.
The investigation is underway under Prima 143, two Articles, Part 3, Subparagraph "c" of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which implies exploitation of labor against minors," the information says.
