During the search of apartments in Tbilisi and Baghdati, the police seized illegal firearms. Report.ge was informed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the agency, two people have been arrested, and the crime envisages imprisonment for a term of 4 to 7 years.
"Employees of Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti Police Department and Tbilisi Police Department, as a result of operative-investigative actions, arrested Sh.Ch., born in 1994, And G.Kh, born in 1983 in Baghdad and Tbilisi. They are accused of illegal purchase, storage, and carrying of firearms and ammunition.
The Kalashnikov AK-47 automatic firearm and ammunition were seized as evidence," the statement said.
