Employees of the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, as a result of operative-investigative measures, exposed seven people for embezzling large amounts of state property through the production and use of forged documents. The press service of the agency informed report.ge.
According to a commodity examination, the investigation established that the accused, in 2015-2016 in the village of Saguramo, Mtskheta Municipality, and in the village of Choporti, Dusheti Municipality, fraudulently registered a large number of 13 state-owned land plots with a total area of 42,301 m2 using forged documents with a market value of GEL 755,144.
Illegally owned land plots were seized during the investigation. The investigation is in progress under the 2nd and 3rd parts of Article 180 of the Criminal Code of Georgia and Part 2 of Article 362 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment for a term of 4 to 6 years. Relevant investigative actions are underway to identify other persons involved in the criminal association.
