USAID/Zrda funded agricultural projects continue in Marneuli Municipality. As reported.ge was informed by the USAID Georgia office, 123 greenhouses were set up in Marneuli within the Zrda greenhouse management program framework, with a total capacity of 75,501 square meters.
"Beneficiaries of various greenhouse projects, which mainly produce cucumbers, herbs, lettuce, tomatoes, and strawberries, were able to generate GEL 2,987,428 from total sales," the USAID Georgia office explained to report.ge.
For example, in Marneuli Municipality, USAID/Zrda-supported farmers Ainura Mamedova from the village of Imirchala, Amiran Davitadze, from the village of Shulaveri, and Ulnaz Pashaeva, from the village of Imiri, completed the construction of separate greenhouses on a 2,000-square-meter plot of land. USAID/Zrda managers say the new greenhouses will allow beneficiaries to earn $ 35 per square meter.
