The Parliamentary Committee of Environment Protection and Natural Resources unanimously approved the bill on aqua-culture today.
Georgian MP Nino Tsilosani says that Georgia has a vast potential to produce aqua-culture and maritime culture production.
''We have the potential to produce about 30 – 40 thousand of aqua-culture product,'' she said, adding Georgia can partially replace the imports.
As Nino Tsilosani said, the new bill regulates relations in the field; it also introduces taxes and takes the entrepreneurs' interests into account.
''Until 2024, they will be exempt from all taxes,'' she added.
The government will hold information meetings regarding the new bill in Rustavi and Kakheti. Those involved in fishing, local municipality officials, and representative MPs will attend the meeting.
