According to the Union of Oil Product Importers of Georgia, diesel imports increased while the import of petrol decreased in Georgia.
The business union revealed that, in 2020, imports of diesel fuel in Georgia increased by 50.6 thousand tons, or 15.4%, compared to last year, while gasoline imports decreased by 11.3 thousand tons or 3.2%.
The import of gasoline and diesel fuel this year, compared to 2019, increased by 39.3 thousand tons, or 5.8%.
In January-August of 2020, the largest volume of gasoline and diesel fuel imports was from the following countries:
Russia - 32.8%;
Republic of Azerbaijan (diesel fuel only) - 20.5%;
Romania - 18.8%;
Turkmenistan - 8.7%;
Bulgaria - 8.6%;
Greece - 4.1%.
