"Azerbaijan and Georgia are strategic partners and allies," said Sahiba Gafarova, the Deputy and Chairperson of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan, during a meeting with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili. According to her, Azerbaijan and Georgia play an important role in Europe's energy and transport security.
"Parliaments play an important role in the development of relations between the countries. I am proud to have a very successful collaboration. Georgia-Azerbaijan Friendship Group has been established in our Parliament, and the Azerbaijan-Georgia Friendship Group also exists in the Parliament of Georgia. The relationship between these two parliamentary groups has always been strong and, I think, is still strong today. I want to emphasize the fact that our national delegations successfully cooperate within many international organizations, such as the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, NATO, Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and many others," Sahiba Gafarova stated.
The Georgian delegation arrived in Baku yesterday.
