In January-March 2021, Azerbaijan processed 1.4 mln tons of oil, with oil procession reducing by 93 thousand tonnes in the country if compared to the processed amounts in January-March 2021, Report News Agency informs, citing the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan. 

It is noteworthy that SOCAR's Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery is the only oil refinery in the region meeting Azerbaijan's most fuel demands. The refinery produces 15 different fuel products, including petroleum, aviation fuel, diesel fuel, petcoke, and others. Founded in 1953, the refinery is now at its second and third modernization stages. 

In January-February 2021, Azerbaijan produced petroleum products worth AZN 810.3 million, which is 13% less than a year ago. In the same time period, Azerbaijan exported more than 91 mln oil products. During the first three months, the country produced 108,000 tonnes of gasoline for the petrochemical industry (+64.9%), 103,500 tonnes of kerosene (-29.4%), 8,900 tonnes of tons of fuel oil (-67.8%), and 64,900 tonnes of petroleum coke (+9.3%).

Azerbaijan is Georgia's major provider of oil products. In January-March, it supplied Georgia with 43 thousand tonnes of oil and oil products worth $20.1 mln, which exceeds the amounts of the same time period by 1.8.
