The first stage of the World Cup Ski Cross will be held in the Georgian ski resort of Bakuriani in February of 2021.

The International Ski Federation (FIS) and the Georgian Ski Federation (GSF) have already concluded an agreement on arranging the competition in Bakuriani.

Bakuriani is preparing for the competition by planning to debut three eighteen-passenger chairlifts (six seats in each), with the total capacity of all three chairlifts being 5,400 passengers per hour at the first stage. However, later, the capacity can be increased to a total of 7,200 passengers. These elevated passenger ropeways are unique in the region as they also have an underground garage.

The ski resort of Bakuriani will host the FIS Freestyle World Ski Championship in 2023, with the first competition planned to be held here in 2021.

The FIS has already published the competition calendar, which is presented below.
