As of August 1, 2020, the banking sector's share capital equals 5.28 billion GEL, totaling 10.32% of the total assets of commercial banks, the National Bank of Georgia reports.
As reported by the National Bank of Georgia, in July 2020, compared to the previous month, the total assets of Georgian commercial banks (in current prices) increased by 1.9 billion GEL, or 3.85% (an increase of 3.14% without the exchange rate effect).
By August 1, 2020, the assets equaled 51.17 billion GEL.
The Georgian banking sector of Georgia includes 15 commercial banks; 14 of them have foreign capital in their authorized capital.
