According to President of the Business Association of Georgia (BAG), Mr. Soso Pkhakadze, business representatives have presented Prime Minister Gharibashvili with a plan aiming to overcome the crisis through the economic development of business. The plan comprises the following ten paragraphs: a) the GEL rate; b) the FDI; c) court; d) regulations; e) education; f) capital market; g) inflation; h) sectoral preferences; i) dollarization; and j) cooperation between the state and private sectors (including bureaucracy).
Mr. Pkhakadze said that the PM provided them with business stability guarantees and accepted their requirements adequately.
''At today's meeting, we were mainly macroeconomists and aimed to discuss the issues professionally. These issues are critical for our country. Swift decisions are to be made. The prime minister promised that he would deal with one issue at a time. We will have other joint meetings. We are eager to hold a number of meetings to get business back on its feet as business ensures that the country's economy is strong, with this being a prerequisite for its success. We must get our economy back on its feet through joint efforts,'' Mr. Pkhakadze declared.
