In the first half of 2020, copper imports from Azerbaijan to Georgia increased by 205.8% from an annual point of view.
In January-June 2020, 2,311.0 tonnes of copper ore (commodity code 2603 - Copper ores and concentrates) of 5,949.3 thousand USD were imported from Azerbaijan to Georgia. In the first half of 2019, Azerbaijan imported 848.5 tonnes of these products to Georgia of 1,945.6 thousand USD.
In January-June 2020, in Georgia, the second place in the top ten commodity import groups was taken by copper ores and concentrated - USD 234.1 million (6.6% in total imports).
In the first half of 2020, of the commodity groups in the top ten export, copper ores and concentrates ranked first - 332.4 million USD. The share of this product group in total exports equaled 22.1%
Notably, in the first half of 2020, imports of goods from Azerbaijan to Georgia decreased by 16.9% from an annual point of view.
In January-June 2020, tea imports from Azerbaijan to Georgia increased by 10.8%.
