1000 000 Euros will be spent on the computerization or digitization of the Georgian transit system. We are talking about the digitization of the corridor, one of the main elements of which is the work on a single digital platform of customs. The initiative is positively evaluated by specialists in the field of logistics and transport.
Report.ge was interested in how Georgian Railway sees the process of digitization of the Georgian corridor. The company's management told us that the digitization of the railway corridor has already begun at a theoretical level, but the active involvement of not only Georgia but also the countries participating in the corridor is important. As report.ge was told by the management of the railway, the Georgian Railway is actively working with the neighboring countries' railway managers to complete this process smoothly.
"We are working with neighboring countries. If Georgia introduces the process and Azerbaijan and other countries do not support it, it makes no sense. It is necessary to synchronize the processes. Hopefully, Kazakhstan and other Caspian ports will also be involved in the digitalization process," Railway Management told report.ge.
According to them, the first stage of digitalization of the corridor, according to rough calculations, will cost GEL 5-6 million.
