The law on tobacco control has been amended. Parliament considered and adopted the amendments to the "Law on Tobacco Control" in the third hearing.
Under the changes, smoking was banned in taxis and any vessel.
From January 1, a fine of GEL 200 was imposed for violating the law for a driver who consumes tobacco in a taxi and for a driver, even if the passenger is engaged and the driver does not prevent this action.
As for the taxi customer who violates this rule, the fine will be applied to him; however, as in all other prohibited places, the fine will be set at GEL 100.
According to Report.ge, smoking will also be banned in a vehicle - when a minor is transported.
Fines were also imposed on drivers who consume tobacco in the presence of minors in the car. The fine will be set at GEL 50.
