Foreign investors want to invest in Karabakh. The information was mentioned at a meeting of the working group set up by the Government of Azerbaijan to work on economic issues in the territories liberated from the occupation. The coordination headquarters set up by order of the President of the country on November 24, 2020, is headed by the Head of the Presidential Administration, Samir Nuriyev. It turned out that foreign companies are willing to participate in investment projects in the reconstruction of Karabakh.

The Small and Medium-sized Business Development Agency under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan has already received 409 applications from individuals and legal entities. 104 of them, 25% - relate to trade and services, 93 (23%) - to industry, 69 (17%) - to agriculture, 70 (17%) - to construction, 34 (8%) - tourism, 5 (1 , 2%) - education, 1 (0.2%) - transport and logistics, with 33 (8.5%) for other types of applications .

Out of 409 applications received, 53 applications belong to 12 foreign companies. Investor companies mainly from Turkey, Russia, Pakistan, Hungary, Kazakhstan are interested in starting a business in Karabakh.

The President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev called for a common platform for the reconstruction of Nagorno-Karabakh in February. According to him, the working group, which consists of the Vice Prime Ministers of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Russia, is important for the whole region.

"Both Turkey and Iran, and in the future, if desired, Georgia can join this platform," Aliyev said.
