Georgia has imported 992,6 thousand tonnes of the petrol and diesel in January – November 2019, The Union of Oil Product Importers reports.

The present rate exceeds the 2018 same period data (about 991,0 thousand tonnes) with 1,6 thousand tonnes, i.e. 0.2%.

The petrol import rate hit 501,0 thousand tones in Jan – November 2019 while the diesel import reached 490,7 thousand tonnes.

The diesel import decreased in January – August but from September 2019 the import started increasing.

In total, the diesel import grew with 40,6 thousand tonnes in September, October and November 2019 than in the same period of the previous year.

According to the countries Russia is ranked first in terms of the petrol and diesel import – 297, 6 thousand tonnnes that includes 30% of the entire import rate.

The following countries are:

Romania - 276,6 thousand tonnes (27,9%),

Azerbaijan - 145,7 thousand tonnes (14,7%),

Turkmenistan - 111,1 thousand tonnes (11,2%);

Bulgaria - 85,5 thousand tonnes (8,6%),

Greece - 55,3 thousand tonnes (5,6%),

Turkey - 19,3 thousand tonnes (1,9%) and others.
