Gas prices rise by another 5.3% in Europe

The price of gas in Europe rose by 5.3% at the time of the opening of the trading exchange, and for the first time since the beginning of October, exceeded $ 1,400 per thousand cubic meters. This is evidenced by data from the ICE of the London Stock Exchange.

The price of January gas futures at the Dutch TTF hub for the opening of the exchange was $ 1,405 per thousand cubic meters and later increased to $ 1,425.5.

Gas prices in Europe have risen sharply in recent months. As early as the beginning of August, a thousand cubic meters of gas traded at $ 515 at the TTF hub in the Netherlands, a figure that doubled by the end of September.

According to the Financial Times, one of the reasons for the increase in gas prices is that Gazprom refused to supply additional volumes through Ukraine, aimed at increasing exports to Europe.
