Vladimer Khundadze, the Deputy Head of the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance, and Zurab Sichinava, the Head of the Customs Department, met with Javad Gasimov, the Deputy Chairperson of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the construction of a new, joint customs checkpoint - "Silk Road - İpek Yolu" within the framework of the existing agreement on checkpoints between Georgia and the Republic of Azerbaijan. At the workshop, the parties also noted the joint project of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the World Customs Organization (WCO) in the context of the global pandemic - issues of positive results achieved by the operating unit within the framework of the Container Control Program and cooperation and information exchange with the countries participating in this program.
The working meeting, attended by Samson Uridia, the Head of the International Relations Department of the Revenue Service, and Kakhaber Baramia, the Deputy Head of the Customs Department, took place at the customs checkpoint on the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, at Siniq Korpu on the opposite of the Red Bridge.
