Georgia, Azerbaijan plan to create joint tourist plan

Georgian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Zurab Pataridze told report.ge that Georgia and Azerbaijan are currently working on the creation of joint tours to offer to tourists from the third countries.

‘Tourists will be able to visit two countries with different traditions and culture as part of the same tour. The border crossing procedures will be simpler for the tourists involved in the tour,’ Pataridze said adding that all this will make the region more attractive to tourists and will increase its awareness.

He said negotiations are underway with one of the Azerbaijani air companies that will conduct Baku-Batumi-Tbilisi flights if the agreement is concluded.

To note, Georgia has hosted 1,400 000 visitors from Azerbaijan in 2019. The rate is 7,7% more than it was in 2018.
