Georgia continues farming activities amid quarantine

Georgia has not stopped farming activities throughout the quarantine declared due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, Georgian Minister of Agriculture Levan Davitashvili said after the meeting of the Interagency Coordination Council.

"Farmers continued their activities, and we have not suspended any state support and have neither reduced funds. On the contrary, the package of economic assistance ensures increased funding for the programs our farmers use,'' Davitashvili said.

In his words, any stakeholder can enjoy the government programs, adding there are more than ten state programs underway in Georgia.

Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Gakharia will present an anti-crisis plan on April 24.
