A total of 47 agrarian markets function currently in Georgia, the National Food Agency reports.

The agency reports that the authorities continuously monitor the open markets as well as the ones that have to meet recommendations to receive a permit to open.

The National Food Agency recommendations depend on the WHO ones, and it is of utmost importance to maintain social distancing by the clients and sellers as well.

''The sellers must be equipped with face masks, gloves and must pass thermal screening before starting to work,'' the National Food Agency reports.

Georgia has 80 agrarian markets in total.

The government allowed the agrarian markets to function starting April 27.

The markets remained closed to prevent the novel coronavirus outbreak across the country.
