As Georgia's Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reports, in January-July 2020, the total goods transported by the transport industries equaled 22.2 million tonnes.
It is 0.6 million tonnes more than in the same period last year.
In the reporting period, cargo turnover rose for road and rail transport.
Specifically, in January-July, 6.3 million tonnes were shipped by rail, which is 0.4 million tonnes more than in the same period in 2019.
The road transport indicator increased by 0.1 million tonnes and equaled 15.8 million tonnes.
In the reporting period, the traffic carried out by civil aviation sharply dropped.
In January-July 2020, the indicator totaled 8.8 million tonnes of cargo. In the first seven months of 2019, civil aviation transferred 13.7 million tonnes of cargo.
