Georgia temporarily closes down trade facilities amid covid-19 fears

From today, March 20, 2020, all trade facilities have been closed down except the pharmacies, food markets, open agrarian markets, gas stations, banks, and mailing service offices.

As Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia said yesterday, this step is necessary to ensure the health of the citizens.

''After the consultations, we are sure that domestic dissemination of the virus begins,'' he said, adding that the government has to take additional steps to ensure the safety.

''The trade facilities should remain closed for the social distance and mobility quality to prevent the internal transmission of the virus,'' Gakharia concluded.
