Georgian PM asks Europe to support Georgia

''We need support from our European friends today. I mean strengthening of road communication even using the Black Sea to the EU,'' Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia stated at Donors' Conference on January 29, 2020.

He highlighted that one of the most significant challenges of Georgia is related to road communication.

''We all know that although we have significant achievements in institutional development and approximation to the EU, for a country having a legal framework of the relationship with the EU, it is still difficult to operate, as it has no land border with it. It is an additional challenge we should overcome,'' Gakharia said.

According to Gakharia, problems in the road communication are the reason for which Georgia's business and economy feel it hard to convert the achievements in real outcomes for the ordinary citizens and average and small business officials.

He says that the Georgian economy maintains good legal infrastructure with different savings, but the country fails to use them.

''It is clearly shown in the deep and comprehensive trade mode we have with the EU, but we have no breakthroughs yet,'' he said.
