As Georgian Vice PM, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Maia Tskitishvili stated today, the Georgian government forgave more than a 10-million USD penalty to the Anaklia Development Consortium.
She says the consortium has to pay the additional penalty, and legal proceedings for its compensation will begin.
''It means that the Consortium must return the land plots the government had transferred to it, with all required documentation,'' Tskitishvili said, adding that the contract envisages all the procedures and the government follows the rules.
Vice PM Tskitishvili stated that there is no reason for the consortium to address the arbitrary court though it has a right to do it.
